Short Stop falls ...well, short.

Let me start by saying, if my opinion differs from yours I am sorry, but here is my review for Short Stop Po-Boys.  Located on the corner of Transcontinental Dr & Thrush St (1 block from Airline Dr.), close to many business and perfect for a quick stop.  This business is fast paced and has very quick turnover... hence the name :P
There is a pretty extensive menu to choose from... sandwiches & soups, hot or cold and a wide, wide variety of bottled drinks you probably couldn't find elsewhere.
Anticipation was killing me......
1 Roast Beef Po-Boy @ $5.95
extra gravy on the side.
It's all about the gravy for me... and this was just LAME!
While the roast beef was superb quality and tasted wonderful, the gravy (if you could call it that) was little more than beef broth with onions for flavor.
While I was disappointed slightly, I can't totally complain.  The price point was pretty sweet, unless you get a fried shrimp po-boy like my husband did at $9.95, and he was pretty satisfied with his lot.

My rating.... 2 STARS

While I definitely wouldn't turn my nose up about going back to Short Stop,
I wouldn't class it as "The Best Roast Beef Po-boy" in the Crescent City.

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Po-boys but HATE Short Stop. I had a VERY bad experience when I was a kid and have never gone back...
