Where is your FAVORITE place to get a roast beef po'boy?

This is the question that started it all!
Now if you know me at all, this question would come across as a shock to you, as I am NOT a 'po-boy' fan AT ALL.   But alas I woke up one morning with a craving that came from the Gods...
'Find the best Roast Beef po-boy in New Orleans'.
So I put the question out to all my facebook friends, expecting to narrow it down to maybe one or two places I could try.   And of course whaddaya know I was given at least a dozen places that everyone swore was THE best place to get a po-boy in town.
Pair a monster craving with a girl that loves a challenge and this is what you get ;)

So, lets get down to business.  Here is what made the final cut, in no particular order...

  • PARASOL'S - 2533 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA
  • R&O's -  216 Metairie Hammond Highway, Metairie, LA
  • PARRAN'S - 3939 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA
  • PARKWAY BAKERY & TAVERN - 538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA
  • SHORT STOP - 119 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, LA
  • COME BACK INN - 3826 Williams Boulevard, Kenner, LA
Unless my hubby lets me try one a day, should only take a few weeks to get all my results in :)
Stay tuned!

  1. First of all your blog name is pretty rad. The concept is neat too. Nothing like eating your way with a purpose through the city. NOLA is such a food city and we are passionate about our favorites. After Katrina we moved to Miami for a bit. When we would ask for restaurant suggestions the heart was just not there. Suggestions were usually given based on atmosphere rather than awesome food. Good eating!

PS~ my favorite roast beef po-boy is from Paran's HOWEVER we recently tried Parkway Bakery and it was great. I can't call if my favorite after one visit, but would be happy to try it again!

  2. Yum! I hear Sammy's Deli on Elysian Fields is really going. Domilise's is great too. I love Short Stop and Parkway. Speaking of restaurants, ever been to Clancy's? Yum!
